Meet the Team
Ray Sasser is our Lead Acquisition Advisor for U.S. Direct Home Buyers. Ray has over 35 years’ experience in buying homes and solving homeowner problems. He and his partners have been actively buying, rehabbing and managing homes non-stop since the beginning. Ray has served on national creative finance panels and is a frequent speaker at real estate investor events and owns two Real Estate Investor Associations in Texas, one in Houston and the other in San Antonio. He actively coaches real estate investors, teaching them best practices and how to keep them and their customers out of trouble, ensuring a successful transaction for each seller. It’s often said that all real estate is local. Knowing how to get the job done with Local help is invaluable but processes and systems are important also for getting consistent, reliable results.
Having extensive experience and being a natural troubleshooter benefits our customers. Many things can go wrong with a real estate transaction. Ray is known as a thorough teacher and stickler for detail. As a coach, he has taught hundreds of real estate investors how to successfully take a seller through the process so that win-win solutions are developed for each party. Before Ray became a full-time investor in 1983 he was an electronics technician where he honed his troubleshooting skills. Prior to this, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard.
Shannon Evans is Director of Acquisitions for Riverside Direct Home Buyers. She has worn many hats since its founding and has experience in nearly every aspect of the real estate industry. She is originally from Mont Belvieu, TX where she graduated from Barbers Hill High School. She then attended Faulkner Christian University on a full athletic scholarship as a starting point guard in the women’s basketball program while simultaneously earning a BS in Sports Management. Shannon’s leadership and communication skills derived from her athletic career have carried over into the business world, where she works with our local partners in improving their real estate experience, business procedures, and software management skills. She is passionate about helping everything run efficiently and creating win-win solutions for all our clientele.
Cherita Andrews is the President and Client Experience Officer (CXO) for Riverside Direct Home Buyers. Her wide range of life experiences include life on the corporate ladder with Fortune 500 companies (before setting aside career aspirations for some time to raise a family), participation in Season 9 of the reality TV show NBC’s Biggest Loser, being a breast cancer survivor, and developing marketing programs for several successful companies (including Richard’s previous civil engineering firm, Aguirre & Fields). Cherita is a strong believer that character in the workplace is essential to achieve true success and demands the highest ethical and moral conduct from everyone in an organization from the top position down to the lowest. Cherita is a graduate of Michigan State University with a BA in Public Relations, Advertising, and Marketing.
Mary Marsh is the Director of Content for Riverside Direct Home Buyers. In addition to our social media pages, she manages many back-office systems, the video production process, writing and editing content across the web, and solves various problems in the office with creativity and attention to detail. Our goal is to provide solutions to homeowners, and we’re constantly updating our content and putting more information online to help you out. Christian Hauser serves as our Chief Technology Officer. A graduate of Rice University in Classical Studies with Computer Science, Christian has built and implemented a number of IT systems and is responsible for the automated back-office systems supporting the staff at Riverside Direct Home Buyers. Relatively new to real estate investing, Christian has applied his education to systemize, categorize, and implement the daily processes we use in a way that is user-friendly and effective for our clients. Christian has not only devised systems allowing us to obtain the best data, but also to manage the data and communication pipeline so that we can respond to your needs according to your schedule.
Richard Fields is the founder CEO of Riverside Direct Home Buyers. Richard has a BS in Architectural Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and was previously the owner/partner of a civil engineering company for 35 successful years. He and his wife, Becky, started buying and flipping houses shortly after leaving the firm in 2014 and learned that they loved helping people solve their real estate problems! Richard took his experience from flipping homes and created the vision that is Riverside Direct Home Buyers by helping real estate investors connect with motivated homeowners. He now oversees all strategic plans, policies, and processes that help our company function and grow, and loves spending all his free time with his 9 grandchildren.
